First Annual Stockpile a success

Now that summer and fall are over and we’re getting into the thick of winter, the Stockpile events of this past summer seem so far away.
With events that happened all around Corner Brook, and satellite events that occurred in the greater Bay of Islands area, Gros Morne National Park, Fogo Island, St. John’s, Charlottetown (PEI), and Sweden, the first annual Stockpile showcased the work of Atlantic Canadian artists in many, many different environments.
If you haven’t already, check out the links to the right to take a look at each event’s aftermath, and check out this page next summer to find out what will be happening in 2009!

The First Annual Stockpile
Throughout the months of July and August, a number of artists based in Atlantic Canada will be presenting the first annual Stockpile, a new showcase for a broad range of art practices and approaches. Stockpile events will be taking place in Charlottetown, PEI, Corner Brook, McIvers, Gros Morne, Fogo Island, and St. John’s, NL, along with one performance taking place in Väskinde, Sweden on the island of Gotland. The events range from art exhibitions and performance art to site-specific art and installations.
The events begin July 11th in Corner Brook, but continue to occur throughout July and August. Between July 21 – 26, events will be focused upon the area around West St. in Corner Brook, with events on the Bay of Islands’ north shore.
Events will be updated and listed on the Stockpile website at www.stockpilegroup.ca.
